Troupis Route Gris Moschofilero
750 ml | Alcohol/Vol: 12.5%
Troupis is a family winery in Mantinia, high on the Arcadian plateau of the Peloponnese, and a specialist in Moschofilero — a pink-skinned grape, which is where this wine gets its colour. Route Gris comes from vineyards at around 640 metres and is fermented partly in stainless steel and partly in old acacia barrels, then blended and matured several months in concrete. That gives it far more grip and texture than a typical rosé, closer in character to an orange wine: orange peel, dried apricot, rose and spice, bright acidity and a faint tannic edge. Pour it with lemony roast lamb, grilled oily fish, or tomato and eggplant dishes.
