Tornatore Etna Rosso Contrada Trimarchisa

Tornatore farms volcanic terraces on the northern flank of Mount Etna, and Trimarchisa is their single-contrada cru — one named parcel, bottled on its own. A blend of 95% Nerello Mascalese and 5% Nerello Cappuccio, it is pale ruby with violet hints, opening on brambly wild berries and morello cherry over a delicate sweet-wood note, then turning silky and persistent with fine-grained tannins, bright acidity and clear volcanic minerality. It spends 18 months in wood and concrete plus a further six months in bottle. Decant an hour ahead and serve at 16–18°C with braised meats, game, porcini or aged cheese.
