Plessis Duval Sancerre

Sancerre sits at the eastern end of the Loire, where Sauvignon Blanc grows on a mix of limestone, clay and flint. The flint in particular gives the wines their signature smoky, struck-match edge.

Pale and bright, with grapefruit, gooseberry and fresh-cut herbs, a taut line of acidity and a dry, mineral finish. Serve well chilled with goat cheese — the classic pairing — oysters, or simply grilled white fish.
