PINOT GRIGIO DELLE VENEZIE - CANTINA COLLI EUGANEI
Halfway between Verona and Venice, the impressive volcanic cones of the Colli Euganei rise above the plain. At the foot of the Euganean Hills lies this dynamic cooperative. The green hilly landscape is the first protected natural park in Veneto (Parco Regionale dei Colli Euganei). Above all, the volcanic soils and calcareous marine deposits make the hilly zone a special wine-growing region. Since 1969, the wines can be produced under the Colli Euganei DOC designation. In addition to wines from original grape varieties, this modern cooperative focuses on French vines that have found a new home in eastern Veneto. The Linea Fossili, whose labels with marine fossils tell of the origins of the Colli, produces fruity, soft wines. The volcanic soils ensure aromatic, elegant white wines and characterful red wines with structure. The special hill region is still surprisingly inexpensive and offers serious wine enjoyment for little money.
The nose is bright and fruity with notes of peaches and apples - followed by delicate floral note. On the palate, the volcanic soils of the Colli ensure a fresh and light wine with good length and a mineral note.
