NIPOZZANO RISERVA 2022 - Chianti Rufina Frescobaldi

A benchmark Chianti Rufina from one of Tuscany’s historic wine families, the Frescobaldi family, who have been making wine for over 700 years. Nipozzano is primarily Sangiovese, with small amounts of traditional Tuscan blending grapes, grown in the cooler hills of the Rufina sub-zone, just northeast of Florence. The cooler climate gives the wine vibrant acidity and beautiful structure. Expect aromas of ripe cherry, plum, and violet, layered with notes of tobacco, leather, and spice from aging in oak. Medium-bodied with firm but polished tannins and a long savoury finish, this is a classic food-friendly Italian red that pairs beautifully with pasta with ragù, grilled meats, or aged cheeses.
