From Veneto’s Valpolicella region, Zenato’s Ripassa is a richly layered blend led by Corvina, re-passed over Amarone pomace for added depth, colour and texture. The 2015 shows ripe blackberry, dried cherry and plum alongside cocoa, sweet spice and a subtle leather note. Smooth, velvety and full-bodied, with polished tannins and enough freshness to carry its long finish. A beautiful match for braised meats, grilled steak, game, aged cheeses and hearty Italian dishes.
