Kidonitsa Zacharias 2024

Kidonitsa Zacharias 2024

750 mL | Alcohol/Vol: 12.5%

Produced in the Peloponnese by Zaharias Winery, this wine showcases Kidonitsa, one of Greece’s rare indigenous white grape varieties. Native to the Laconia region in the southeastern Peloponnese, Kidonitsa takes its name from the Greek word for quince ("kydoni"), a hallmark aroma of the variety. Zaharias is recognized for preserving and promoting traditional Greek grapes, crafting wines that highlight both regional heritage and modern winemaking precision.

Aromatic and distinctive, this wine opens with notes of quince, pear, white peach, citrus blossom, and fresh herbs, complemented by subtle mineral undertones. Light to medium-bodied with bright acidity and a smooth, textured palate, it offers freshness and elegance with a clean, lingering finish.

A unique and versatile Mediterranean white, ideal alongside grilled seafood, fresh cheeses, salads, roasted vegetables, and traditional Greek dishes. Its aromatic profile and refreshing character make it a wonderful alternative to Pinot Grigio, Viognier, or Albariño.

Grape Variety: 100% Kidonitsa — one of Greece’s most exciting indigenous white grapes, prized for its signature quince aromas, floral character, vibrant acidity, and food-friendly versatility.
