Alois Lageder 'Krafuss' Pinot Noir Alto Adige
750 mL | Alcohol/Vol: 14%
The vineyards that give the grapes to produce this sensational wine of Trentino Alto Adige are cultivated on a hill, where all the natural features like elevation, positioning, soil, micro-climate and winds create a perfect habitat for Pinot Nero. This variety has, in fact, a long tradition in that territory and produce a wine really dynamic, structured, refined and characterized by mineral and salty elements. For the wine making, Lageder uses 100% Pinot Nero grapes, cultivated with biological, dynamic method, certified Demeter. The grapes come from the “Krafuss” estate, located on the hill of S. Michele in the district of Appiano-Montagn. The lands here have an elevation of 430-450 meters on the sea level and are composed mainly of clay, rocks and limestone of morainic origin. The average age of the vines is 23 years old. The harvest is planned in the middle of September. The wine making process starts with spontaneous fermentation and maceration, followed by maturation with malolactic fermentation in steel containers. The aging then is managed in little wooden barrels that can contain 225,300 or 500 litres of wine.
